Premordial Shoebill

She is suspended in the air, enormous, neither rising nor falling. Below her stretch endless prairies. The shoebill is wrapped in red cords with bells that jingle in the wind like an amulet meant to ward off anything bad. Storm clouds were gathering behind her, but now they are fading and making way for a bright blue sky so vast that above her head night has already begun and stars are visible. She has become so large that she exists across several layers of the world at once, while tiny birds circle nearby, too small to realize that the thing they are flying around is alive.
